« JIVA » is a Buddhist term which means a human being. Jiva Hill, the alive hill, is a dream of 10 years with a little bit crazy idea to transform an agricultural ground with an exceptional position into a heaven place offering: luxury, sport, peace and relaxation to its guests.

Since 2012, Jiva Hill Resort is pleased to host an exhibition of the New York photographer Roberto Dutesco, whose collection of works intitled “The Wild Horses of Sable Island” presents unique shots of wild horses living on the Sable Island, a small Canadian island located 290km southeast of Nova Scotia coasts, in the Atlantic Ocean.

For 20 years, Roberto Dutesco observed and studied these animals which would have been abandoned right after a shipwreck in the 18th Century and which are now protected by the Canadian government.

Stunning photographs, unprecedented collection of extraordinary moments in a site without human settlement, where horses roam freely.

Roberto Dutesco depicts the beauty of these animals and the bareness of these virgin lands, creating a photographic memory that seizes the mind and soul.
