An alliance of chefs

The Shamwari restaurant is pleased to welcome a second chef, Jean-Luc Burnier, a top-quality pastry chef, curious by nature, cunning, and.... impassioned by chocolate.
Also an art lover and talented illustrator, he chose to focus on pastry upon the advice of his uncle, also a pastry chef. He discovered a demanding profession with lots of room for creativity. First learning at Zurcher, confectioner in Montreux, he then set out to express his talent in leading European houses, such as Hôtel Baur au Lac in Zürich, Schloss Bösttein in the Argovie township, Roland Pierroz's Rosalp in Verbier, Longueville Manor, Relais & Châteaux on the Isle of Jersey, and at Camille Bloch. It was at this top Swiss chocolate manufacturer that he perfected his knowledge of the delicate sweet that filled his mind, and that he loves to associate with other ingredients to create exquisite and astounding tastes.
What he likes most of all is having fun with your taste buds, surprising and delighting them.

Green golfers |

The Jiva Hill Golf Club innovates once more! The club is again a precursor in the field by creating a school for juniors, freshly proving its passion for the sport as well as its desire to transmit the knowledge and share golf starting with youngsters.
Beginning in April 2012, children of all levels can play on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 14h30. Group classes are offered (maximum 6 children per class), under the supervision of our pro Head, Guy Martin, as well as Cédric Stein-Mertz.
Classes on Wednesday are for non-beginner 7 to 9 year-olds.
On Saturday, beginning children 4 years and older get a gentle introduction to learning golf.
With our new teaching concept based on foam balls, carpet, and moving targets, the fun and safe sides are both under control.
Note: golf camps are also organised during school vacation.

Ever-more effective seminars |

The seminars and study days you organise at Jiva Hill take place under optimal conditions, with hi-tech rooms and a majestic environment. To go further and give your event an additional dimension, we recommend that you include a golf initiation session. Your events will be enhanced and completed by this sport, which requires precision and concentration, building team spirit and giving your participants a chance to put their motivation into action.
After working their minds, a healthy and sporty moment of relaxation for your participants, with overtones of surpassing themselves, will make your seminars unique and effective while contributing to their success.
Golf initiation is offered for any seminar or study day that takes place between February 1 and March 15, 2012. Designed for groups of 10 to 30 people.

Every year is a great year for our oenology evenings. Grab your calendar, the first tasting dates are here!
Featuring selections by our expert wine stewards, these evening events with dedicated wine-makers and perfect meal/wine matching combine discovery and pleasure in smooth harmony.
On Monday, February 6, we're holding the first tasting of the year, a special evening of Sicilian wines, featuring Domaine Donafugata. Fabio Genovese, director of the domaine, is the invited guest for the evening.
On Monday, March 12, we will honour Loire Valley wines, highlighting Domaine Jacky Blot.
Other Mondays following that: April 2* and May 14 (Domaine Ott in Provence and Roederer Champagne), June 4 (Champagne Jacquesson and Domaine Aegerter in Nuits-Saint-Georges)
and July 2*.

The Jiva Hill Spa is launching a programme of treatments specially created for children. Original and playful, they will allow little ones to discover the pleasures of looking after themselves whilst experiencing the amazing sensations of a cocoa scrub! Targeted to children's needs and wishes, some treatments are set up to please little girls, such as the "Tinkerbell Fingers" manicure, whereas others are more specifically aimed at the boys, who won't be able to resist the foaming foot bath. However both girls and boys are sure to love the bubble gum massage!
The products used are of course especially adapted to children and all the cosmetics are organic. And to complete the delight, Spa access is free to the accompanying parent for the duration of the treatments. An ideal present for the holidays, it is bound to make them happy!
